Known For: Upland is a wonderful town nuzzled up against scenic Mount San Antonio (also referred to as Mount Baldy). The city houses parts of Historic Route 66 and Euclid Ave. (Highway 83). Euclid Ave. is a beautiful street with a large path up the middle that is utilized by hundreds of people for walks and workouts every day. Euclid Ave. is also the privileged home to one of California’s twelve Madonna of the Trail statues that celebrate the journey of early settlers across the West. Upland also plays host to it’s annual Lemon Festival each April, which takes place in it’s Historic Downtown.
Area: Upland is in a prime location to reach both jobs and schools near or far. The city is only six to eight miles away from the Ontario International Airport, and is home to a Metrolink station (The Metrolink is a train that runs back and forth between Los Angeles and San Bernardino).
Upland has a highly regarded public school district (Upland Unified School District) that houses nine elementary schools (Baldy View, Cabrillo, Citrus, Magnolia, Pepper Tree, Sierra Vista, Sycamore, Upland, Valencia), two Junior High Schools (Upland, Pioneer) and one High School (Upland). All schools offer a plethora of extracurricular activities that range from sports to academics, as well as summer school programs.
Upland is centrally located between Pasadena City College, Citrus Community College, and Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) to the West, and Chaffey College to the East. All schools are easily accessible by car, bus, or Metrolink allowing every member of the community to grow and prosper.
Upland is also gifted with easy access to two major freeways: Interstate 10 and and Interstate 210, making Upland a great suburb for citizens that commute to one of Southern California’s major cities. With multiple entrances and exits onto both Interstates, Upland is well equipped to deal with the needs of commuters.
Recreation: Uptown or downtown, social or quiet, Upland is well positioned to meet your needs. Upland is home to the The Colonies shopping center, and a quick drive to the Montclair Place (formerly Montclair Plaza), Victoria Gardens, and Ontario Mills Outlet malls if your looking to do some shopping. With over 300 stores between them, shoppers will love the close proximity to these shopping hotbeds. Mt. Baldy is only a straight drive up Euclid Ave., and is home to dozens of hiking trails and outdoor adventures (and lots of wildlife too, so be safe!). Downtown Upland is a quaint, historically protected, part of the city that allows citizens to reminisce and enjoy a classic look and feel of years gone by. Downtown is the host for many of the cities activities including weekly farmers markets, festivals, and holiday events. Upland is also nearby to many movie theaters, parks and sports complexes (including spacious Memorial Park which houses Little League Fields and various other recreational activities), and many restaurants to indulge in. The city is also a short drive away from all of the amenities found in Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, and Claremont.
